  1. BUDGETS:

  3. Monthly Budgets remove money from
  4. some Funds (sources of income) and add
  5. money to other Funds. You determine the
  6. different amounts using 'Change Budget
  7. Amount' under the 'Budget' menu. Since 
  8. money can't come out of nowhere, the
  9. Budget must balance before you can
  10. record new transactions or begin a 'New
  11. Month'. To set Budgets, take your average
  12. monthly income (yearly salary/12) for the
  13. budgeted Income, enter fixed expenses
  14. and priority items, and adjust items until
  15. the budget balances. Try to budget for 
  16. monthly averages--for example, one sixth
  17. of your six month car insurance payment
  18. should be budgeted for each month. Then
  19. by the time your next payment rolls
  20. around, you will already have the money
  21. for it. When setting up a budget originally,
  22. it may be necessary to begin with some
  23. money in funds with irregular expenses
  24. (such as insurance).
